Terms and conditions

These terms cover work carried out by Matrix BAU Property Solutions Ltd, trading as Islington Home Repairs, for domestic customers. They do not affect your statutory rights.

Quotations

A quotation is a fixed price for the work described in it. It holds for 30 days. It covers only what is written down — if you ask for something additional once we have started, we will price that separately before doing it.

Work we could not have foreseen

Repairs occasionally uncover something that was not visible when we quoted: rot behind a skirting, a pipe run in an unexpected place, previous work that was not done correctly. Where that happens we stop, show you what we have found, and agree the cost of dealing with it before continuing. We will not add unagreed work to your invoice.

Access and parking

We need access to the property at the agreed time. If we cannot get in and have not been told in advance, we may charge for the wasted visit. Parking within Islington is arranged and paid for by us and is included in the quoted price unless stated otherwise.

Payment

Invoices are due within 14 days of completion unless we have agreed something else in writing. For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit against materials, which will be set out in the quotation.

Cancellation

Where you engage us away from our premises you have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin within that period and then cancel, we may charge for work already carried out and materials already bought. Once work is complete the right to cancel no longer applies.

Guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for twelve months from completion. Materials and appliances carry whatever guarantee the manufacturer provides, and we will pass the paperwork to you. The guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by someone else, or failure of parts of the property we were not asked to work on.

Complaints

Tell us. Email Tony@matrixpropertyrepairs.com or ring 0207 126 8487 and we will acknowledge within two working days and set out how we intend to put it right. We would far rather hear about it than not.

Governing law
